Gilbert Arenas does it again!!!

With time winding down in yesterday's game against the Utah Jazz, and the score even at 111. Gilbert Arenas confidently fired up a three- pointer . . . and made it. Final score - Wizards- 114, Jazz - 111. I think that that place was as loud as it has ever been. If you would have asked me who the most clutch player in the NBA was last year, I would have said something like Kobe Bryant or Lebron James. However, if you were to ask me today, I would confidently say Gilbert Arenas. Let's look at the statistics people. Arenas has had fifty points in three of his last fifteen games. He's also averaging over thirty points, which is in the top three among the NBA leader board. Gilbert has also scored sixty points this season. That's an NBA high among all players this season.

With the Wizards back to their winning ways, and a 21-16 record, they are competing very much in the conference. Of course, that is mainly because the Eastern Conference is the worst of the two. I wouldn't say that it was bad, I would just say that it has the least amount of winning teams. If there is a difference. Therefore, the Wizards should hold strong through the winter this basketball season.

Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Nick, and I live in Baltimore, Maryland. I'm a huge Washington Wizards fan, as well as a die-heart college basketball and soccer fan.
Now I'm going to break down the entire Wizards team as well as their future during this season and into the playoffs.

PG- There is no problem at the point guard position for the Wizards. After all, Gilbert Arenas is arguably the best guard in the NBA. I would automatically rule Allen Iverson out of the mix because, he is a constant cry- baby. (and the Denver Nuggets can't seem to win ever since he got there. That doesn't sound like a coincidence to me.) I would also take off Kobe Bryant from the list. Other that this one problem he is a great player. However, he has got to be the biggest ball hog in the NBA. Always needing a touch. It's frustrating to see him take more shots that his combined team.
Overall Grade: A+

SF- I have to admit, when Larry Hughes left, I hadn't thought the Wizards would find a decent replacement. However, Caron Butler fits nicely on the time. He really raise the team chemistry. However, Caron Butler will sometimes take ill- advised shots. He is a decent defender though. And whenever you have Gilbert Arenas on the wing, you're already a little bit better. Overall, I like Caron's determination and hustle for the team.
 Overall Grade: B

PF- Antawn Jamison is a great fit for the Wizards. He never whines or complains, and he will always bring his fullest. Despite Gilbert Arenas' great range, I feel that Jamison has the most consistent three point range shot. And his shooting stroke is, as many basketball enthusiasts would call it, silky smooth. The Wizards defiantly got the better end of the Jamison- Stackhouse trade that went down just a few years ago between the Wizards and th Dallas Mavericks. Overall Grade: A-

SG-  DeShawn Stevenson was drafted in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft. He did not attend college, but was not drafted out of high school. The only other current all-star to come from that situation was Ben Wallace. Stevenson has played with three different teams including the Jazz, Magic, and now the Wizards. Let's admit, he's not an all- star, nor will he ever be. But is a reliable player. He'll show up for practice every day, and come to the games read y to play. if he has anything, it's heart. And isn't that the next best thing to skill.
Overall Grade: C

C- Brendan Haywood is not my favorte center in the world, if you know what I mean. Therefore I'll keep this short and to the point. I think that he should be benched for either Etan Thomas or Calvin Booth. Haywood has already been involved in a fight earlier this season with Etan Thomas. And the injury bug is starting to bite. Until Haywood proves himself to me and the team, my feelings remain the same.
Overall Grade: D

My overall team grade for the Wizards this season is a B.  That makes them a contender and gives them a chance in the Eastern Conference. I think that the wizards could very easily secure up a third or fourth seed. however my prediction, the Wizards are two and done in the play offs. No Championship this year.
