Name:
Kosta Koufos |
 |
|
School:
Ohio State |
|
Position: C |
|
Class: Freshman |
|
Height: 7'1" |
|
Weight: 245 |
|
Strengths: |
There's a lot of upside to Koufos' game. Possesses the
kind of shooting ability that most guards would envy. Has
a textbook jump shot with range that extends out to the NBA
three point line. Shots with a high release point and
quick release. Has flashed the ability to put the ball on
the floor and beat his man. Shows a number of back to the
basket moves in the post, including a jump hook. Has a
Rasheed Wallace-like turnaround jumper. Displays natural
shot blocking skills, especially when coming from the weak side. |
|
Weaknesses: |
Will
get his share of dunks because of his height, but he's not much
of a leaper. Shies away from contact in the paint as shown
by his embarrassingly low number of free throw attempts.
Doesn't always look to share the ball. At times he falls
in love with the three point shot. Not a great man-to-man
defender at this point. Has had some off-the-court issues
in the past. Still in the very early stages of his
basketball evolution. Work ethic? |
|
Overall:
|
Kosta
was expected to come in and replace Greg Oden and that was never
fair as his game is closer to Andrea Bargnani than to Oden's.
He played decently as a freshman and should probably return to
school. But big men with his skills won't fall to far in
the draft. |
