Name:
Jerryd Bayless |
 |
|
School:
Arizona |
|
Position: PG |
|
Class: Freshman |
|
Height: 6'3" |
|
Weight: 204 |
|
Strengths: |
Bayless is a talented player who's brimming with confidence in
his abilities. A top-flight shooter, he has range that
extends to the NBA 3-point line, as well as a silky-smooth
pull-up jump shot from mid-range. A good ball-handler who
looks to set up his teammates early on and wants to take the big
shots late in the game. One of the few top prospects in
this class who seems to genuinely take pride in his play on the
defensive side of the ball. |
|
Weaknesses: |
Has to
be labeled as a combo-guard rather than a true point guard.
Goes through stretches where he over-dribbles quite a bit.
At this point in his development as a player, his scoring is
further along than his passing. Doesn't look comfortable
finishing at the basket with his left hand. Doesn't always
look to fight through screens. |
|
Overall:
|
There's a lot of Jason Terry and Monta Ellis in Bayless' game.
If he were two inches taller, we'd love him as a shooting guard,
but at 6'3" he's going to need to play point guard in the NBA.
He certainly has the skill-set to excel, it's going to be about
changing his mindset. |
