Name: Derrick Rose
School: Memphis
Position: PG
Class: Memphis
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 196
Strengths:

What truly separates Rose from his counterparts at the point guard position is his awe-inspiring athleticism.  He possesses the ability to get wherever he wants to be on the floor, at any time.  Has shown solid progress in terms of running a team and setting up his teammates.  He's a big-time player who plays the best when it means the most.  Fearless, won't back down from any opponent.  A natural defender who flashes the ability to shut down his opponent.  A strong finisher who has the ability to finish with authority.

Weaknesses: Much more suited to play in an up-tempo game than he is in a half-court set.  Has unorthodox form on his jump shot, including a bit of a hitch.  Isn't a reliable three-point shooter at this stage of his development, but he has shown improvement in that area. Isn't an in-your-face personality.  A little more laid back than you'd like from your point guard.
Overall: From the moment he stepped onto the floor at Memphis it was obvious that Rose was a special player.  He has the skill-set to be an instant impact player at the NBA level.
