Name:
DeAndre Jordan |
 |
|
School:
Texas A&M |
|
Position: C |
|
Class: Freshman |
|
Height: 6'11" |
|
Weight: 250 |
|
Strengths: |
If you
were to build your ideal power forward / center body, it would
inevitably look a lot like DeAndre Jordan. Remarkable
athlete for a near 7-footer. Possesses long arm and the
soft hands of a wide receiver. A productive per-minute
rebounder with the potential to become a dominate rebounder.
Gets to the line at a good rate. His upside is
astronomical. |
|
Weaknesses: |
Lack
of conditioning lead to Jordan playing only 20 minutes a game.
Disturbingly poor free throw shooter (43%). Not yet nearly
as physical as his size would suggest, in fact he'll often get
pushed around in the lane and struggle to finish through
contact. Underdeveloped footwork in the post. Lacks
go-to moves with his back to the basket. Can get a little
selfish on offense. Isn't close to the shot blocker than
he should be. Lacks aggression on defense. He's no
where near where he needs to be to contribute nightly in the
NBA. |
|
Overall:
|
While's he's frighteningly underdeveloped at this point, Jordan
should find himself a fairly high pick in the 2008 NBA draft
potential alone. But he's going to need time to mature. |
