Brook Lopez

Name: Brook Lopez
School: Stanford
Position: C
Class: Sophomore
Height: 7'0"
Weight: 256
Strengths: Lopez is a true 7-footer who possesses ideal size and an impressive wingspan.  A smart player who plays within himself and rarely finds himself out of position or in foul trouble.  Good shot-blocking instincts, particularly strong-side.  Sets himself in the lane and has the strength to hold his spot.  Solid back to the basket scorer who has a couple strong scoring moves including a half-hook.  Flashes the ability to score facing the basket using a mechanically sound jump shot out to 15 feet.  Gets to the line at a good clip for a bigman.
Weaknesses: Pre-draft testing showed that he wasn't quite the athlete we thought.  Although, with that said, it doesn't bother us to much considering what we've seen in-game.  His left hand isn't a threat at all.  Field goal percentage is brought down by some ill-advised jump shots.  Everything considered, he should be a better rebounder.  Average at-best passer.
Overall: With Lopez, you pretty much know what you're going to get.  A better than average NBA center.  Considering the state of the league, that's enough to warrant a high selection.
